The Open Badge Network (OBN) is a European strategic partnership dedicated to Open Badges and funded under the European Erasmus + Program. Open Badge Network (OBN) brings together organisations from across Europe to support the development of an Open Badge ecosystem, promoting the use of Open Badges in formal, non-formal and informal learning.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it
We are collecting extra profile fields in addition to basic WordPress fields namely Name (required), Organization (required), Job title, Country (required) and City. All the field except the name can be visible to “Everyone”, “All members”, “my friends” or only for the user him/herself. These profile fields can be edited, and the visibility can be changed during or after the registration process.
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

We collect the learning process data such as course’s data, which course you created, which course you purchased, which lessons/quizzes you have finished, your personal information, and your orders.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained until the mandatory maintenance period of the programme results expires, to make us able to recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. The mandatory maintenance period at present is 5 years.
For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. Your personal data are also is retained until the mandatory maintenance period of the programme results expires, at present for 5 years after the closure of the programme. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except changing their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. How we protect your data
In addition to the basic WordPress security, the registration process (with a CAPTCHA enabled on it) needs a confirmation by the user him/herself and approve by the administrator of the site. After that, the user can be an OBN Member with the right to enroll a MOOC course or communicate with other members, post to forums.
We keep the server itself, the WordPress CMS and all the plugins up-to-date. There is also a backup of all the site files and database regularly.
